Grilled White Chicken Pizza with Caramelized Sweet Onions

Grilled pizza is simply delicious and so easy using refrigerated pizza crust and our Make-Ahead Shredded Chicken Breast. Just thaw and use one cup in place of the rotisserie chicken.

Ingredients

tablespoons butter or margarine

cups halved thinly sliced sweet onions

teaspoon sugar

teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

oz cream cheese

package (14 oz) prebaked original Italian pizza crust (12 inch)

cup refrigerated Alfredo pasta sauce (from 10-oz container)

cup shredded deli rotisserie chicken (from 2- to 2 1/2-lb chicken)
  • 1 In 10-inch skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Cook onions and sugar in butter 20 to 25 minutes, stirring frequently, until deep golden brown and caramelized; stir in thyme leaves.
  • 2 Heat gas or charcoal grill. Spread cream cheese evenly over pizza crust. Top with Alfredo sauce, shredded chicken and onions. Place on grill over medium-low heat. Cover grill; cook 8 to 10 minutes or until hot.

Expert Tips

For extra flavor, substitute garlic-and-herbs spreadable cheese for the cream cheese.

Avoid the temptation to grill the pizza at a higher grill temperature The crust will burn before the toppings heat through.
