  • 1 packet (1 oz) Old El Paso™ Original Taco Seasoning Mix
  • 4 slices (1 oz each) Monterey Jack cheese
  • 4 burger buns, split
  • 1 avocado, pitted, peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup thick & chunky salsa
  • 1 jalapeño chile, chopped, if desired

Steps

  • 1
Heat gas or charcoal grill. In medium bowl, mix beef and taco seasoning mix. Shape mixture into 4 patties, about 3/4 inch thick.
  • 2
Place patties on grill over medium heat. Cover grill; cook 13 to 15 minutes, turning once, until meat thermometer inserted in center of patties reads 160°F. Top each patty with cheese slice. Cook 1 to 2 minutes longer or until cheese begins to melt. Serve in buns with avocado and salsa. Top with chopped chile.

  • This recipe calls for ground beef, but feel free to use ground turkey instead.
  • Favorite taco toppings such as sour cream, shredded lettuce and chopped tomatoes can be served, too.
