Grilled Ginger Salmon Fillets

A sweet-and-spicy basting sauce beautifully coats salmon fillets for a fast and flavorful main dish.

Ingredients

tablespoons honey

tablespoons ketchup
2
tablespoons finely chopped gingerroot

teaspoon salt
1/4
teaspoon red pepper sauce
1 1/2
lb salmon fillets

Directions

  • 1 Heat gas or charcoal grill. In small bowl, mix all ingredients except salmon.
  • 2 Carefully brush grill rack with vegetable oil. Place salmon skin side down and crosswise on grill over medium heat. Cover grill; cook 8 minutes.
  • 3 Brush all of honey mixture over salmon. Cover grill; cook 3 to 6 minutes longer or until salmon flakes easily with fork.

To broil salmon, place skin side down on rack in broiler pan. Broil with tops 6 to 8 inches from heat using times above as a guide.

Barbecue sauce can be used for the ketchup.

Not everyone will love this glaze if you don't like a little kick. But we thought it was FANTASTIC! I made the salmon in the broiler instead of on the grill, and it still turned out amazing. Super easy to do and most of the time you'll have this stuff on hand anyway!

Very yummy, the basting sauce was sweet then had a kick. I was worried about the ginger cause I'm not a big fan using it but it was a nice background note with the salmon. Over all my family enjoyed the salmon, which was a first for one of my kids.
