LOCATION

Directions

  • 1 Heat gas or charcoal grill. Spray 1 (18x13-inch) sheet of heavy-duty foil with cooking spray. Place potatoes on center of foil. Drizzle with oil; sprinkle with seasoned salt.
  • 2 Bring up 2 sides of foil over potatoes so edges meet. Seal edges, making tight 1/2-inch fold; fold again, allowing space for heat circulation and expansion. Fold other sides to seal.
  • 3 Place packet on grill over medium heat. Cover grill; cook 30 minutes, turning once. Carefully open packet; sprinkle cheese over potatoes. Cover loosely; let stand 4 to 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.

EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

Use 4 cups seasoned potato wedges with skins instead of the O'Brien potatoes and skip the vegetable oil and seasoned salt. If you like heat, sprinkle potatoes with Monterey Jack cheese with jalapeño peppers.

If you don't have heavy-duty foil, wrap potatoes in two layers of regular-strength foil.

Well it has been a bit over 1year since I wrote about this receipe, stating that it did sound good, but I would try regular potatoes instead. Finally made this and yes, quite tasty, even with regular potatoes! As the other reviewer said fresh cubed potatoes were used. I did the same, but did not spray the foil first. I may try the other way also, it is even easier, but just not sure about using frozen potatoes? Anyways either way, I know for sure with the fresh potatoes it is quite good and will make again! =)

This sounds quite good. I will try this recipe this summer (using regular potatoes) I think that might be better! Let you know what I think?
