What could be easier than beef and veggies that grill to perfection in their own little pouches?

I really enjoy this meal, but make sure you use extra lean ground beef or everything will be too greasy. Also, slice your potatoes really thin and cut your carrots in half lengthwise, mine never cooked in time otherwise.

So I did this tonight. 93% lean burger, yukon potatos, mushrooms, onion chopped into burger w/worcheshire, green onion, celery, one small carrot, dill, and coated lower half of foil with olive oil, salt and pepper, 22mins on grill, and dang, came out excellent. Potatos tasted like they had been cooking hours in a pot roast. I'm going to make this soon for the rest of the family here. It was very good. Thank You.

We call these pocket stews. Learned to make this at Girl Scout camp in the 60's and still make them today either on the grill, in the campfire or in the oven. When my kids were growing up they requested this for dinner several times a month. Also very good made with ground pork or a chicken breast.

was thinking and looking for something different to prepare for,July 4th. I have done veggies in this way, but the hamburg etc. sounded great. Then read the comments, & it will be on my menu. Made one in the oven to test---Super

I'm 52, and I've been making these foil-pack dinners since before I was a teenager! I almost always make a couple when I'm camping; and I occasionally do this at home in my backyard firepit. I usually do a big, thick hamburger (lean) with potatoes, carrots, onion, and bell peppers. I also include 1 thick slice of bacon to top it off. You must use lean hamburger to add the bacon; otherwise you're meal will be greasy. It's just fine with lean hamburger though.

This is one of my family favorites! Super easy and tastes great. I put them in the oven in the winter and toss them right in the fire when we go camping. Easy to make anywhere and anytime! I use lots of pepper and extra carrots (or the kids fight over them) and add sliced onion on top too!

It was good, but not great. I was thinking that it might be easier to just put it all in a baking dish and pop it in the oven to bake. I guess you could do all sorts of variations to suit your tastes.

LOVED it. Used very lean beef, onion & cheese. It steamed wonderfully in 20 minutes. Absolutely on the "keep" list!
