Amazing but true, propping an intensely seasoned chicken atop a can filled with beer, then grilling, produces a remarkably moist and flavorful bird.

We made this chicken Saturday night & it was a total success! Hard to believe that such simple spices already in my pantry could lend such incredible flavor to a simple chicken! I used Chipotle Chili Powder in lieu of regular chili powder and added a smidge more Cumin, as that's our favorite spice, and it was PERFECT! So moist on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside. Grilled it on Med. Low/Low for 1 hr. 15 mins, and that was the perfect amount of time. We also used little device specifically for "beer can chicken," which we picked up at our local "home improvement" store for $5 (So worth it!). Thanks Betty Crocker-this is now a staple in our home!

I tried this recipe for the first time and it was absolutely great. The only deviation was that I rubbed the chicken with the rub and let it sit in the fridge overnite in a large freezer bag. A must try!!!!

This is an okay recipe. The spice rub doesn't really come through on the chicken and the chicken is hard to balance on the beer can. The chicken was moist though.

I love this recipe! I found that if I can't get out and grill and use the beer can method, I will brine the chicken in beer and chicken broth, equal parts, enough to cover chicken. Then pat chicken dry, rub with dry rub and put it in my rotisserie. I cook it according to my rotisserie's directions and YUM!

Excellent! I've made this several times and have always received high praises from my family. Initially I was concerned the meat would taste like beer but, surprisingly, it doesn't. And if you don't have a can of beer, canned soda or juice works too.
