Grilled Asparagus with Sweet and Spicy Dip

The perfect side dish or appetizer, our grilled asparagus is served with a sweet and spicy dip made with chili sauce and apricot preserves.

cup Thai sweet chili sauce
1/3
cup apricot preserves

fresh asparagus spears (about 2 lb), trimmed

tablespoon olive oil

teaspoon garlic-pepper blend

  • 1 Heat gas or charcoal grill. In small bowl, mix chili sauce and preserves; set aside.
  • 2 Place asparagus in grill basket (grill “wok”). Brush asparagus with oil; sprinkle with garlic-pepper blend.
  • 3 Place grill basket on grill over high heat. Cover grill; cook 5 to 8 minutes, turning once with tongs, until tender and slightly charred.
  • 4 Serve asparagus with dip.

Expert Tips

You’ll want the asparagus spears to be about 1/4 inch in diameter for this recipe.

Asparagus can be served hot off the grill, or make ahead and serve at room temperature. Have plenty of paper napkins on hand, because they can be messy to eat!
