Capture the flavor of gyros in these Greek-inspired beef burgers served in pita breads. They're a fun change from the typical hamburger and just as quick to grill!

lb lean (at least 90%) ground beef
1/2
cup crumbled herb-flavored feta cheese (2 oz)
1/4
cup chopped kalamata olives
1
tablespoon chopped fresh oregano leaves

teaspoons chopped fresh mint leaves

pita (pocket) breads (6 inch), cut in half to form pockets

medium cucumber, thinly sliced

thin slices red onion, cut in half

medium tomato, sliced

cup Greek Fat Free plain yogurt
  1. Heat gas or charcoal grill. In large bowl, mix beef, cheese, olives, oregano and mint. Shape mixture into 4 patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
  2. Place patties on grill over medium heat. Cover grill; cook 10 to 12 minutes, turning once, until meat thermometer inserted in center of patties reads 160°F.
  3. Cut burgers in half. Fill each pita pocket with burger half, cucumber, onion and tomato slices; drizzle with yogurt.
