4
slices thick cut bacon
2
pounds ground beef; 80/20
1
can tomato puree; 8 ounces
2
tablespoons flour
2
tablespoons granulated sugar
1/4
teaspoon worchestershire sauce
1
package hamburger buns; toasted
  1. In a large skillet cook the bacon until it starts to brown. Add the ground beef and brown. Drain the meat. Add the flour and stir well; add the rest of the ingredients and simmer until thickened.
  2. I tweaked the recipe when I had kids and I use brown sugar in place of the granulated sugar. I also added 2 tablespoons each of diced onion and red and green peppers. I also topped the meat sauce with a slice of american cheese. My kids loved it and my grandkids do too.
