Quickly combine all ingredients in one bowl and pour into a pan. In 20 minutes, you'll be taking a hearty cornbread out of the oven!

This recipe is a little different than the original printing in the cookbook: 1 cup of cornmeal, 1 cup of flour, 2 tbs of sugar, 4 tsp of BP, 1/2 tsp of salt, 1 cup of milk, 1/4 cup of oil, 1 egg,, (this is where we changed it - Heat an oiled 10 inch cast iron skillet in a 425 degree oven while mixing ingredients)and bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

this is regular basic cornbread recipe I prefer a bit sweeter so I always add extra sugar to taste a couple tablespoons or so and remember you can always change it up by adding cheese or peppers (i add both to serve with chili) but this is good recipe to use to add for flavor in stuffing. I use half bread cubes and half cornbread when making. Or if in real hurry add some to stove top ( makes it taste homeade) had tons complements one year when I did that lol if they only knew! Use you imagination when adding flair to a recipe that way it is more your "own"
