This was the first time I've used fennel. I got this recipe from Betty Crocker's Gluten free Cooking cookbook. I had just five organic chicken legs. I used two cups of beans I made in the crockpot. I used a can of diced tomatos smaller than called for.I added fresh parsley, tarragon and chives instead of rosemary. This was very tasty, easy and will make it again!

This was good and a change of pace for our table. However next time I think I would partially drain the tomatoes (very liquidy) and season the beans/sauce better.

I was pleasantly surprised with this dish. My family loved it. It would have probably been better had I used the thighs and legs, but I had chicken breast on hand. It was still delicious.

Delicious. I made a few changes, I used Trader Jo's plum tomatoes because that is what I had. I probably seasoned the chicken more than suggested because I use a mix I make of salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder in equal portions, but on the whole, it was wonderful. thanx

Yum! I agree with another poster that it contained too much liquid. In fact, I took the leftovers to work in a crock pot (because I had doubled the recipe for me and my family of 4 boys), and everyone raved about the 'soup'! So glad I found the fennel. We used 100% white wine (not the chicken broth) and the smell was outstanding! Tasted so good. Made this with fresh, hot out of the oven, french bread. Great for a cold night. Healthy and delicious!

I wanted to add this was much better the 2nd day as leftovers. The sauce thickened up nicely and the meat was fall off the bone tender and flavorful. I will make this again, either a day ahead or in a crockpot where it can slowly simmer all the flavors into the meat.

This was good, easy to prepare, not sure I'd make again. I was surprised at how muted the flavors were. The fennel was very mild, which was a good thing in my case I wasn't sure b/f and kids would eat it. The sauce was great but it's very souplike. You really need to use alot less liquid...I'd try 1/4 c wine and a 15 oz can of tomatoes. The meat was pretty bland. All the flavor is in the sauce.

Easy and very good, and it smelled soooo yummy! I used canned diced tomatoes and chicken broth - next time, I'll cut back a bit on the tomato liquid and/or add a second can of beans.

I made this last night and thought it was wonderful! I used boneless skinless breasts and the chicken broth instead of wine. Will DEF make this again. Thanks!
