LOCATION

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Line bottom and sides of 9-inch square pan with foil. Grease bottom only of foil with shortening or cooking spray. Make and bake brownie mix as directed on box. Cool completely, about 1 1/2 hours.
  • 2 Using foil to lift, remove brownie from pan; remove foil. With deep 2 1/2-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut 10 brownies. Place brownie hearts on a cooling rack or waxed paper.
  • 3 In microwavable bowl, microwave frosting uncovered on High 10 to 20 seconds. Stir; frosting will be thick and spoonable. DO NOT BOIL. Carefully spoon melted frosting over brownies to glaze, allowing excess to drip down sides. Sprinkle with candy sprinkles before frosting sets.

Enter your review here...I made these last night. It was very humid out and the frosting would set but was very sticky to the point I could not put them in a container on top of each other with either wax paper or parchment in between. I ended up having to trash several because of the way the paper stuck to them. If I make these again I will put some paraffin wax in to set the frosting. They do taste good and the ones that I was able to salvage looked good, too.

The brownies look great, but i don't think that the chocolate frosting is nessasary, however the pink frosting and the sprinkles look great!

I had problems with this recipe. The brownies said 20-22 minutes baking I should have taken them out at 20 but the toothpick came out doughy. They were a little overcooked at the corners at 22. The cooking cutting went well, but the frosting had to be cooked 2 minutes or so before it was spoonable. Even then it was thick. I used decorating gel which didn't really show up and at the bottom of the page, later I noticed they used white frosting with red food coloring. The frosting was very sticky. I am putting some cookies in the fridge to see if that will help. My spouse liked them.
