I made this, and it was fabulous. However, I used a whole box of cake mix, doctored it, and baked it in ten-inch rounds. It really was terrific and using bittersweet and dark chocolate in the ganache balanced the sweetness of the cake and filling.
I also made it with yellow cake mix, and we liked that version even better!
Oh, and I didn't refrigerate this, either.
