Ive been making this for my husband & I for almost 5 years (no children hahaha). I cant wait to make this again this year. I do agree with some of the other comments its a lil too much tomatoes, but overall i love this recipe.

Well first of all I didnt make the ghosts on top. I just covered the top with the mashed potatoes. Some of the other reviews were right about the can of tomatoes. It can be kinda runny, maybe just a half can is enough......other than that it was pretty good, just add your own seasoning to taste cause it's kinda bland with out some salt and/or pepper.

I use only a 14.5 oz. can of diced tomatoes. The only veg my kids don't like is onion so I leave those out and add 1 Tbsp of dried minced onion with the garlic powder. I love that we started a Halloween tradition with this recipe. We never know how many people might stop by throughout the night and this is very easy to reheat an individual serving in the microwave. Since the oven is already hot I also make HUGE fresh crab legs. It is a once a year extravagance and those legs are a perfect creepy addition for anyone who does not want to sit down and eat a bowl of Ghost Pie.

this is a very good, quick and simple recipe. can be a little watery. i use a 10 1/4 oz. can of gravy instead of the 12 oz. and i spread out the mashed potatoes instead of making ghosts. i add my own seasoning...garlic powder, pepper, parmasean cheese, etc. so good and have rec'd compliments on it.

Yuck, we could barley choke this down. The tomatoes were too much. Normally, I love tomatoes, but the fact that they were undrained made the pie runny. I may try again without the tomatoes.

This so YUMMY, and my daughter LOVES it! I have made this several times, and she can''t wait to "gobble" the ghosts up! Another GREAT thing is that it is easy to make!

Very easy and very tasty. I added some extra spices to boost the flavor...dried thyme, garlic salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and an all-purpose seasoning. I also used store bought pre-made mashed potatoes (the ones that are refrigerated and come in a bowl ready to microwave) since I have a new baby and my time is limited for meal preparation. I just spread the potatoes all over the top of the meat and veggies mixture. I also used one can of diced tomatoes (which equals almost the amount called for in the recipe) and one 10 ounce can of campbells beef gravy instead of a 12 ounce jar of gravy. It worked out really nicely!! My husband liked it better than any other shepard''s pie I''ve made.
