This is far from real traditional German Potato Salad. It would be better it you made it from scratch using red potatoes, bacon, sugar and vinegar.

I highly suggest using malt vinegar (traditionally used on fries in British Fish and Chips) instead of white vinegar for a more tangy flavor. You can usually find malt vinegar in the same section as the white, cider, and other flavored vinegars.

This recipe is much better if you use store bought German potato salad. It can be heated in a skillet, and takes less time to cook. Using this method takes less time overall to complete this recipe, and is much tastier. I think you''ll like it.
