Ingredients

cup Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
3/4
cup granulated sugar

tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa

teaspoons baking powder
1/4
teaspoon salt
1/4
teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2
cup milk
2
tablespoons vegetable oil
1
teaspoon vanilla
1
cup chopped nuts, if desired
1
cup packed brown sugar
1/4
cup unsweetened baking cocoa
1/4
teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 3/4
cups boiling water
Ice cream, if desired

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 350ºF. In ungreased square pan, 9x9x2 inches, mix flour, granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa, the baking powder, salt and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Stir in milk, oil and vanilla with fork until smooth. Stir in nuts. Spread evenly in pan.
  • 2 In medium bowl, mix brown sugar, 1/4 cup cocoa and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon; sprinkle over batter. Pour boiling water over batter.
  • 3 Bake cake 40 minutes. Let stand 15 minutes. Spoon cake with sauce into individual dishes. Top with ice cream.

I came to this recipe while searching for a good dessert to make in the microwave. this looked like the perfect one until i noticed that the microwave-version is not given. can someone please guide me as to how to translate the recipe such that i can make it in a microwave?

This was one of the best pudding cakes I have ever eaten, and it was so easy to prepare. What I like most about this recipe is that it does not use eggs or butter. I could eat this desert without feeling guiity. In addition, I used powder skim milk. I did not serve it with ice cream, the chocolate sauce was perfect for this pudding cake. Definite this will be one of my favorite deserts.
