Frosted Peppermint Brownies

Easy brownie-mix brownies get dressed up for the holidays with frosting and crushed peppermint candy.

Ingredients

1
box (1 lb 6.25 oz) Betty Crocker™ Supreme original brownie mix
Water, oil and eggs called for on brownie mix box
1
container (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy creamy white frosting
1/8
to 1/4 teaspoon mint or peppermint extract
Green or pink food color
Peppermint or spearmint candies, crushed, if desired

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Grease bottom only of 13x9-inch pan with shortening or cooking spray. Make brownies as directed on box. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
  • 2 Stir together frosting, 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon extract and food color until smooth. Spread frosting evenly over brownies. Sprinkle with crushed candies. Refrigerate 30 minutes to chill. For brownies, cut into 6 rows by 4 rows. Store tightly covered.
