Lick this chocolate malt from the top creamy fudge frosting to the last tasty crumb.

This recipe was a lifesaver. My grandson's second birthday is tomorrow and I had no mixes etc. I had Bisquick.... The only thing I changed is to substitute another powdered chocolate drink powder for the malted milk. I used the normal sized cupcake paper cups and filled 11 of them about 1/4 inch from the rim. I baked them for 18 minutes at the recommended 400 degree oven, and OMG. They rose to perfection and smelled absolutely awesome. I will keep this recipe in my special place. You will be extremely happy, and they are so easy to make. I think the important thing is to positively beat them for 4 minutes so that the batter is thick and infused with air.

I have baked every week for years. These cupcakes are too dry. My oven was smoking at 400. I'm giving it one spoon because the frosting is good. Maybe a lower temp would work. I won't find out because I'm not going to try these again. Do try the frosting with another cake mix.

As long as you eat them right away they're good. By the next day they are dry and it's downhill from there.

The cupcake was dry and actually became crispy on the outside when cool. Not what I like in a cupcake. The frosting tasted good...would use it for a frosting on a chocolate cake...

I put these in for 12 minutes and checked them because I could smell them burning. They were extremly burnt. Maybe they would have been good if put in for a lot less time.

These are very delicious and moist. Will make them again. The only thing I find fault with, they don't have enough malt taste to my liking. I think the next time, I will use less chocolate and more malt.

I love baking with Bisquick and making a cake after church, and this is the best Malted cupcake I have ever eaten! The best part is, I also made it for our family desert night as a layer cake. Crushed the malted balls for a better dazzle for the middle layer and just because on the top.
