EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

The humble tomato packs a nutritious punch. One medium tomato has about as much fiber as a slice of whole wheat bread. Tomatoes are also a good source of vitamins C and A, plus contain potassium and phosphorous.

Enjoy this refreshing salsa with grilled chicken or pork or as a dip with tortilla chips.

If you want a hotter salsa, leave the seeds in the jalapeño chiles, or add another one!

This was great and easy for teens to make!! It went perfect with her homemade chips! We made two batches: one of the recipe and the second we added a super hot pepper for our family members who love spicy. We also used red onion alongside the green onion.

I've made this salsa several times for picnics/events and everyone just LOVES it!!! I leave out the jalapeno and it rocks! My sister-in-laws that "don't eat salsa" ate it up! It takes some time to cut it all up - but it's worth it! Also, I used the minced garlic in a jar to save some time :o) I'm making it the weekend for a party we're going to - I can't wait!
