i did just toss the strawberries with the "sauce", and it came out fine. also i used vanilla extract and sugar in the cream cheese instead of lemon peel. everyone just loved it and most went for seconds!

i made this pie like the recipe says and it looked beautiful! then i cut the first piece and it turned into "swamp-berry pie." next time instead of pouring the sugar mixture into the pie, i'm going to toss the strawberries with it, then carefully scoop them out to avoid the excess liquid. but i have to say that even though it's a mess to serve, this pie tastes amazing!

I've used this recipe for years but I do not use the lemon zest in the cream cheese. You can also put banana on the bottom on top of the cream cheese for a different flavor. This is the kind of pie you eat the first day. It does not keep well so I try to make it when we're having company and it will all get eaten. Make sure you cook the sauce long enough so it really comes to a boil and that should thicken it as long as you remembered the cornstarch. Love this pie topped with a heaping helping of whipped cream. YUMMY!!

This recipe was good, but I think it would be better with about half as much lemon peel. It''s just a tad too strong.

It tasted great the first day but got a little watery the second day. I will make it again.

I was excited at the prospect of this pie, but it ended up really runny. I loved the taste, but it became mush after the second day... need to test a few things and try again.

I have made this recipe without the cream cheese and lemon every strawberry season, but I think I like it better with the cream cheese. It gives it an extra pizazz.

I think if the cream cheese and lemon peel mix had about 1/4 cup of sugar or splenda added to it, it would blend the pie together better, but it was excellent as is also.

I have made this pie for years, except I have always used Fresh black raspberries. It''s always a big hit whenever I make it. Maybe someday I''ll try it with the strawberries

A++ SO WONDERFUL! I''ve only made this once and it was fabulous. The cream cheese adds and extra bit of love to this pie. I am going to make this again today and try it with the flavoured cream cheese. The only draw back I saw was how runny it became the day after. Though, i''ve not made a strawberry pie before, maybe this is normal?? Anyway, it''s wonderful either way!
