I used the pre made crusts, which I think did not give it that homemade taste. I did not like the cream cheese layer, overall I did not like this pie.

I had no problems at all getting the strawberry glaze to thicken- just be patient and keep stirring and it will happen but even after cooling it and refridgerating the pie for the amount of time it says, when trying to plate it completely falls apart and becomes a mess. It's a very delicious mess though but I don't know if maybe I let it cool longer if it would stay pie or not. I may try again...

I had zero problems with this recipe. I used a refrigerated pie crust instead of the homemade one. The cornstarch filling thickened up just fine with the amounts listed in the recipe. This pie was a huge hit with my family on the 4th of July and I will definitely make it again. Very simple!

I wa a bit concerned after reading the review that said it did not thicken, so I reduced the water to just enough to liquify the suggar mixture, then added strawberry mash. I also increased the creamcheese to 4oz and added a couple tablespoons of powdered sugar while whiping it. I replaced the lemon zest with lemon extract (it's what I had). Fabulous results! I will be making this again!
