The correct spelling is Macaron, not macaroon. A macaroon has coconut.

I don't think sic_em_bears spends much time in a kitchen to know what the different type of macaroons/macarons are. Macarons aren't too difficult to make but people tend to be intimidated by them. This recipe isn't as detailed as the martha stewart one I use, but it would be a good starting recipe for newbies.

The one with coconut ARE called coconut macaroone. There are many, many other cookies called macaroons which do not contain coconut. Sometimes when we post messages we should ALL be sure of our facts, first!!!! This is a delightful looking and tasting macaroon cookie. RD013
