Enjoy these flower-shaped distinctive cookies made using Gold Medal® all-purpose flour – an elegant dessert!
cup butter or margarine, softened
cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
teaspoons lemon extract or vanilla
Betty Crocker™ gel food colors, if desired
Betty Crocker™ Decor Selects sugar sequins, sugar crystals or assorted decors, if desired
Heat oven to 400°. Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with
electric mixer on medium speed until creamy, or mix with spoon. Stir in
flour, lemon extract, salt and egg. Tint dough with food color as desired.
Place dough in cookie press. For multicolored cookies, place 1-
inch balls of different colors of dough alternately in cookie press. Form
desired flower shapes on ungreased cookie sheet. Decorate with candies
to look like flowers.
Bake 6 to 9 minutes or until set but not brown. Immediately
remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.
Make [rolled cookies] by dividing dough in half, rolling each half 1/8 inch
thick on lightly floured surface, cutting with flower-shaped cookie cutters
and baking as directed.
