Made this with my kids for a 4th of July BBQ yesterday and it was SO easy, SO fun and SO good. Everyone loved it. I can't wait to try it with other colors for other occassions! Great recipe!

i was looking for a cake to take to our annual church 4th of July get together and came across this one. I altered the recipe a bit, using strawberry & blueberry purees for the red & blue layers. i also used 3 cake mixes, one for each color, and made 3 cakes. i'm baking the first one right now and hoping it comes out great!!

I made this cake last night and brought it to work this morning, since tomorrow is the 4th of July. Everyone has something nice to say about the cake. It looks really beautiful with the red, white and blue colors. I have a feeling it will ALL disappear by the end of the day. That makes me happy!

I made this cake for the 4th of July with my daughter, and we had a lot of fun putting it together. I had the same issue with getting the red, red enough, but the effects were so cool, that it was a hit.

I made this last weekend for my Mother-in-Law's family reunion and it turned out great! Very easy to make and a nice moist cake. The only problem I had was getting the red frosting red enough! It was pink, white and blue even after I used a ton of red food coloring. I will definately make it again but with a different brand of food coloring maybe.

This cake was very easy to make. The cake I made for the 4th of July came out looking just like the picture and was a hit for the kids and adults! This recipe will now be a tradition for Independence Day!!!!
