So much flavor from such a simple sauce. This classic Alfredo made of butter, cream and Parmesan cheese is perfect for fettuccine.

This has been my recipe for 30 yrs. Wouldn't use any other. The only thing missing is a touch of nutmeg...adds to it even more. yum stuff.

Really quick way to make this "Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo" is to thaw the frozen salad shrimp and add to the noodles and sauce. Much quicker than cooking shrimp to add to the Fettuccine. Also, look for the fettuccine noodles in the dairy case -- soo much better than dried noodles!

Made this the other night with my boyfriend. It was FABULOUS. Totally out of this world delicious. I doubled the ingredients to make a thicker sauce. I also used unsalted butter per everyone's suggestions. Also added 1/8 tsp of garlic powder. Also helped if you totally melted the butter, then added the heavy whipping cream. Seriously SO easy.

This recipe works perfectly every time. My son LOVES it. I am wondering, though why people think it's doesn't have enough sauce? I think just the opposite. I actually add more pasta for that reason.

Very good and very easy. Next time, however, I will use unsalted butter. I agree with other reviews that it isn't saucy enough. I used 24 oz. of fettuccine pasta and quadrupled the sauce ingredients and it turned out great.
