No need to buy expensive cleansers with this simple recipe, perfect for gift-giving, and as a treat for yourself, too.

Ingredients

For Normal/Combination Skin:

  • 1/2 cup castor oil
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 to 2 drops tea tree oil

For Dry Skin:

  • 1/3 cup castor oil
  • 2/3 cup olive oil
  • 2 to 3 drops vitamin E oil

For Oily Skin:

  • 2/3 cup castor oil
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 3 to 4 drops tea tree oil

Steps

    Measure oils into bottle. Wet face with warm water. Place about 1 tablespoon prepared oil in palm of hand. Massage with fingertips in upward strokes on face and neck for about 1 minute.

    Wet washcloth with very warm water; squeeze out excess water. Cover face with washcloth for 15 to 20 seconds. Wipe away excess oil.

    Cleanse face twice a day or as needed. (Oil not intended to be eaten.)

    Castor oil is an essential ingredient in this recipe, but the olive oil can be substituted with sunflower, grapeseed, jojoba, avocado, sweet almond, sunflower seed, tamanu, apricot kernel or argan oil.

    Adjustments can also be made in the ratios depending on how oily or dry your skin is.
