I made Toll House Cookies for years... my husband and six children loved them. Then, I tried this recipe a few years ago and there was no going back. They are soft and chewy... exactly what a cookie should be. They keep well (if they last that long) and are just as good if frozen. Sometimes, I swap the semi-sweet chips for milk chocolate because that's what my family likes better. I've also used white chips, or a combination, which is fantastic. Awesome cookie recipe!!

I was in a panick because I lost my recipe magazine with this recipe in it! I kept thinking it was Pillsbury, but every recipe I read I knew was wrong. I finally made a batch of Tollhouse, what a disaster! I finally remembered these heavenly cookies were yours Betty! Thank you so much!! I have baked them for years and other than the 1 disaster above NEVER made any others! These are the Ultimate Extraordinary Chocolate Chip Cookie! I always get compliments galore when I make these! Thanks Betty!!

My 5 year old and I just made these for the first time this weekend! The cookies turned out perfect, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The recipe was easy enough for her to follow and help with pretty much every step. We received compliments from everyone and a few requests for the recipe. We will certainly be making these again!!
