The cupcake and the espresso filling were wonderful. BUT, I was not at all happy with the canned frosting. I found a recipe for a homemade Mocha frosting on the Domino Sugar website that was so much better, and it was the perfect topping for these yummy cupcakes!

I used suisse mocha instant coffee because I couldn't find espresso, next time I'll use a different flavor. The mocha of the coffee blended too well with the chocolate of the cake and got lost. Other than that, AMAZING! Brought them to work to use my coworkers as guinea pigs for recipes that taste great.

I love these cupcakes... I make them with a gluten free chocolate cake mix and they turn out just as good. They are simple and delicious.

I just made these last night for a friends birthday who HAD to have espresso CC's for her birthday! They went over FANTASTICALLY! the ONLY thing I changed was I used Tiramisu flavored marscapone and ommited the espresso powder in the filling step. the Tiramisu had enough coffee flavor. GREAT recipe and everyone who saw here eating it was jealous! I will definitely be making these again!
