My daughter's birthday is on the 6th and she is having a neon rock and roll sleepover party on the 9th. She wants a guitar cake and since my local bakery doesn't make it, I have to give it a try. I am going to try it on the 7th to make sure it comes out right. I wish I knew how to make hot pink icing because she wants it pink and purple. Any advice?

i made this for a 40th Bday. I made this cake much larger. I made the template on 11x17 and used a larger 1 inch sheet pan. and double stacked and filled the cakes. It was a major hit!! I had the base a baby blue and the handle black. It fed almost 40 people. I havent made a custom cut out cake in over 15 years and I was able to do this. now I have 2 more cakes to make from the people at the party :)

I made this cake for my son's 5th bday! It was easy to make.. Mine did take 2 days BUT I made it ALOT bigger. This size cake I felt was not going to be big enough. I made the cake using 3 sheet cakes cut out into the same shape. It ended up being about 2 or 3 inchs shorter then a real one! I used fondant for strings and all the other accents.. I had left over fondant as I made my own.. I used that to make a shoulder strap! This cake was a big hit!
