Large Can (28-oz) whole tomatoes (undrained)

Small Cans (6-0z) tomato paste

cup granulated sugar
1/2
tsp fennel seed
1/2
tsp black pepper

bay leaves

lb ground beef
  1. Combine tomatoes, paste, salt, sugar, fennel seed and pepper in a blender.
  2. Cook ground beef and drain.
  3. Combine sauce, ground beef and bay leaves in a large pot.
  4. Cover and simmer for one hour, stirring often.
  5. Remove and discard bay leaves. Serve over spaghetti or your favorite pasta.
