Easy Weeknight Slow-Cooker Spaghetti Sauce

Make it your way! Progresso™ Recipe Starters™ fire roasted tomato cooking sauce jump starts a big batch of meaty spaghetti sauce. Use mild or hot Italian sausage or ground beef. Like more veggies? Add bell pepper or sliced ripe olives.

lb bulk Italian sausage or ground beef
large onion, chopped (1 cup)
packages (8 oz each) sliced mushrooms
cloves garlic, finely chopped
cans (18 oz each) Progresso™ Recipe Starters™ fire roasted tomato cooking sauce
  1. Spray 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. In 12-inch skillet, cook sausage, onion, mushrooms and garlic over medium heat about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sausage is no longer pink; drain very well.
  2. Place sausage mixture into slow cooker. Stir in cooking sauce. Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 to 9 hours.
