Used the recipe for cut out sugar cookies on the back of the package. It called for 1 tablespoon flour. They tasted great!

This was my first time making spritz cookies... the recipe was so easy. 1/4 cup flour was not enough for me, the dough was too soft. I added another 1/4 cup to make the 1/2 cup in the recipe, and it was perfect, not at all crumbly.

Frist time this year making spritz cookies. I got a W***** cookie press it had a recipe that came out really good. When I logged on to Betty I found this recipe. I made it but the dough was to stiff. I was still able to make my cookies. My husband came around to see my cookies. I did a taste test with him and boy did he love Betty's cookies better. So I make another batch last night but since it was stiff the last time I had read to add extra egg. That made it to loose. Which is my fault. So I had to add extra flour. It still came out real good. I was just reading the reviews which I should have read frist. Thanks for the info. I will use 1/4 cup of flour next time. Over all I will be using this recipe always it is the best. Thanks Betty for this cookie recipe.

Great cookie recipe! I have never made spritz cookies but these were so simple and easy. I did heed the advice from a previous review and only added 1/4 cup of flour and these turned out perfectly.

Wish I would have read the reviews before I went thru all the trouble and mess of making these! What a disaster! Way too dry to go thru the cookie press. Did anyone test this recipe before publishing it? Will go back to my homemade recipe that always turns out great!

this was a disaster for me - the mix was so thick and dry that trying to push it through my cookie press broke it! I ended up making the cookis the usual way with a spoon. Very disappointing, and ended up being very expensive!!

I've been making this shortcut spritz cookie for years with my cookie press...definitely only need 1/4 cup pastry flour..otherwise, they will be dry. For the holidays, I also add food coloring...split up the dough, and make several colors. the gel color is best because the color will be more vibrant.
