Ingredients

tablespoon vegetable oil

medium green onions, sliced (1/2 cup)

clove garlic, finely chopped

cups water

cup barbecue sauce

tablespoon soy sauce

cup Green Giant® Valley Fresh Steamers™ frozen mixed vegetables

cups uncooked instant rice
1
barbecued pork tenderloin, cooked and cubed

  • 1 Heat oil in 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Cook onions and garlic in oil about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until onions are crisp-tender.
  • 2 Stir in water, barbecue sauce, soy sauce and vegetables. Heat to boiling; remove from heat. Stir in rice and pork. Cover and let stand about 5 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.

Easy to make and yummy. I substituted 3 pork loin chops and browned them in a skillet without the bbq. It was a good choice.

It would be best to use an Asian barbecue sauce for this. Regular barbecue sauce just doesn't work at all. In fact, the flavor is an unpleasant surprise. I agree with the other poster who said Asian bbq sauce plus an egg to finish. Even the vegetables are a bit much when you have fresh carrot sticks and fresh Asian peas and fresh cabbage slaw from which to choose.
