I followed the recipe and when we got to the point where you have to leave it boiling, I set my timer for 30 minutes. At the 15 minute mark, my sugar heat spiked and it burned in like 30 seconds. Round two was not bad, and I watched it the entire time instead of leaving it. I am still waiting for it to "set" but everything looks way better now. As long as they taste great, then I will love this recipe.

These were super easy to make and turned out fabulous!! I have no idea how this could ruin a bowl or beaters??? This will also be added to my holiday baking list!

I am going to admit I was scared to try this after reading the review about it messing up a ladies mixer, but I tried it anyway…. Not sure what went wrong for her, but it worked great for me… no mixer issues at all… I would say follow this EXACTLY and you should be fine. As soon as you pour your mix into the pan, drop the bowl in the sink running hot water in it… this is sticky, but that’s the point. Worked great, smells great, taste great.. Worth the project time.

These were SO FUN TO MAKE! I learned some new candy-making skills, too! They are totally delicious, very different from the store-bought type, probably not like anything you've eaten before. Everyone who tried them just loved them, and all but 1 person (a non-cook) asked me for the recipe. I live in the south, and they stood up extremely well under the constant humidity - they didn't get sticky overnight. They definitely will be a holiday gift for folks next year.

Im not sure where I went wrong with these but they do not look like the picture at all! They were very time consuming and I found fairly difficult to make, if they had turned out that pretty they would have been worth it!

These are very fun to make and my teenagers love them. It does take awhile so make them ahead of time. Directions are easy to follow, I didn't have any problems with swirling the red in. Only thing I would change is putting them in smaller pan to make thicker.
