box (7 oz) Betty Crocker™ mac & cheese original
Margarine and milk called for on mac & cheese box
lb Italian turkey sausage
can (14.5 oz ) fire-roasted diced tomatoes, drained
cup Progresso™ Italian style panko crispy bread crumbs
Make mac & cheese as directed on box.
Meanwhile, in 10-inch skillet, cook and stir sausage over medium-high heat about 5 minutes or until no longer pink; drain.
Stir cooked sausage and tomatoes into mac & cheese. Cook about 1 minute or until hot. Top with bread crumbs. Serve hot.
Save and freeze the juice from the tomatoes to add to your next soup or chili.
The fire-roasted tomatoes add a nice rich flavor to the mac & cheese, but if they are not available, regular diced tomatoes will work fine.
