I am going to make these cookies with my daughter for christmas. You definitely have to put the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before rolling out. This will help them keep their shapes better while cutting.

Just a thought for all bakers on this one... Im in the process of making these right now with my daughter. What my instinct is telling me is to add a little more flour to thicken the dough. I mean really... the cookie will still be sweet enough with all of the toppings that will be added! So.. YES... we will be happy with the outcome!

was looking forward to these, but so far not impressed. The dough as made per these instructions is far too wet. We can hardly roll it out and if we do cut one out, it is so soft you can't lift it off of the counter without losing shape. Will try throwing in refrig. overnight and try again tomorrow.

Haven't tasted these yet - but good thing I thought to refrigerate the dough for a while, before rolling it out. By the time I had cut about 6 cookies, the dough is so soft that they aren't holding their shape when removed from the cutting surface. So I'm sticking the dough BACK in the fridge and we will see what happens next...so far though - not very impressed. :(

I have been making my cutout cookies from this mix for many years & it is great. I chill my dough before rollling & freeze them for gifts @ Christmas. They are my husband's favorites.
