Easy Cheesy Skillet Lasagna

Mafalda looks like mini-lasagna noodles and can come in long ribbons or short pieces. Use the short variety for this recipe.

Ingredients

lb bulk Italian pork sausage
1
pouch (9 oz) Progresso™ Recipe Starters™ creamy three cheese cooking sauce
1 1/2
cups uncooked mini lasagna (mafalda) noodles or medium egg noodles (3 oz)
1
cup shredded mozzarella cheese (4 oz)

Garnish, If Desired

cup diced bell pepper*

  • 1 In 10-inch skillet, cook sausage over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until no longer pink; drain.
  • 2 Stir in 1 1/2 cups water, the cooking sauce and noodles. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium.
  • 3 Simmer uncovered about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender. Remove from heat; sprinkle with cheese. Cover; let stand 2 to 3 minutes or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with bell pepper.

Expert Tips

*Choose a variety of colored bell peppers for the garnish.

Serve with mixed green salad.
