These are awesome! The only problems are: a. if your oil isn't hot enough, it will just absorb the grease and be a mushy nasty mess, b. if you let them fry too long they explode, and c. if you don't freeze the cheese first it's a big mess! I think these are the reasons for any of the bad comments. Just follow the directions and they're ah-mazing!!

I use string cheese (don't forget to freeze them). Family loves them.

Went so much better than I thought, based on the reviews. I used string cheese sticks cut in half and a fry daddy, and none exploded. I do agree that they need more flavor. Next time I will try adding seasonings other than paprika!

My guilty pleasure is cheese, and fried cheese sticks are my favorite way to indulge. I loved this batter! I used mozzarella, and felt like I was eating mozzarella sticks I bought at a restaurant. Not an expensive dish as most ingredients are on hand already.

I haven't tried these yet, but was wondering has anyone tried using panko breadcrumbs? If so let me know. Cheese sticks are my favorite!

I THINK THE PERSON WHO SAID USE STRING CHEESE IS A GENIUS.tHIS IDEA SEEMS GREAT AND TO BAKE THEM IS EVEN BETTER IDEA AS -- WE NEVER FRY ANYMORE IDEA TO FREEZE THE CHEESE SO IT Stays CREAMY - I OFTEN WONDERED HOW THEY DID THAT WHEN WE USE TO EAT OUT.

I used mozzarella and it was way too bland. I then added 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp garlic powder, 2 tsp italian seasoning, about 1/4 cup cornmeal (would have used bread crumbs but didn't have any) and they were much better.

These cheese sticks were absolutely disgusting. My entire house stinks of vegetable oil. We took one bite and threw them all out. What a waste of expensive ingredients.
