This was ok. Very bland. no one was impressed just kind of eh. I think taco bell meat has more flavor. In the end I added garlic, taco seasoning, salt, pepper , onion to spice it up. Maybe ok for a base.

Best way to make taco's: use flour tortilla, soft shells, brown meat, drain, add refried beans, mash real good, add salsa to this and heat all. Put in 1/2 of shell, fold over, fry in one inch of oil; brown both sides; remove, open and put shredded cheese, chopped tomatoes, sour cream, chopped lettuce . This is the best ever. Pgh. Phyl

for cynthia P. They sell taco, metal bowls to put tortilla's in to make bowls in oven. Or use your deep fryer, put tortilla in and put metal soup spoon on it and hold under the hot grease and it will shape it. Hope this helps you. Pgh. Phyl

RE Marylurdys: Yes, we have one. Search under "Homemade Tomato Salsa" in the top right. Hope this helps.

Anyone has a good, natural substitute for the salsa? I would say onions, peppers, cumin... but I'm not a good cook, so I'll appreciate an expert advice! :-)

I agree with Cynthia P. I always bought the Taco Salad bowls for chili night. Have your chili and eat the bowl! If they are still available it's not in my neck of the snowbank. Pleeeeeze bring them back!!!

I recommend stand 'n stuff shells, much easier to fill than regular tacos. This meal reminds me of my childhood. I always loved taco night! Messy, but good!

I love tacos, there easy to make. Sometimes I add green peppers and onions. I love sour cream on top and ranch salad dressing, too!
