I loved it. I am pregnant and craving for apple pie but i have Gestational diabetes so cannot eat sweet things. This apple pie is just for me! It is not too sweet and doesn't have too much pie crust so no carbohydrate. It didn't sky up my sugar level. I think who is on diet that would be the dessert to eat and it is easy to cook. I just got some egg, taste on the crust, i guess i need to put some vanilla in it.

Maybe my problem was using a 9" round cake pan instead of a pie plate, but I don't think so. While the apples were good, and they weren't over powered by cinnamon, there wasn't enough pastry for the amount of apples. Came out more like a baked apple with scant bread pudding. Son hated it & refused to eat it, husband did out of politeness. Sorry, but I think this bombed at my house. I do thank you for submitting it though. Win some, lose some. With this one I just lost out. Maybe next time.

This was really good! It did not taste egg-y and my mom who hates eggs even liked it! I did add about a 1/4-1/2 tsp. vanilla extract to the batter as someone suggested, and I think that's why it tasted so good. The apples were nicely flavored and weren't hard at all (i used granny smith's). I had plenty of batter to fill the pan...make sure you don't over cook the batter part. Once it starts to collect together, it's done! I think if you over cook the batter, that's why some may have had trouble with it. I will be making this a bunch! quick and easy (about 20 min or less to get in the oven)!

Easy and delicious. Cutting the apples took the most time, once that was done it was put together pretty quick. Two of had this whole thing gone before noon.

I just finished making this for my family. It was very easy to make and assemble. We ate it all up. The crust is very light and compliments the apples nicely. This is a lovely, impressive dessert that looks and tastes like you worked much harder than you did! Enjoy!

I don't know what I'm missing that you others aren't but this recipe was an utter disaster. The "batter" was not enough to cover the entire bottom of the pie pan, but I thought maybe it would rise and fill out. It didn't rise and it tasted like apple-topped baked eggs. It seems as though something is missing in this recipe but with such a high spoon rating I didn't expect such a complete failure (and that it was). It's almost as though this needs more pancake mix AND some milk added to it before baking...or something with substance. I followed this recipe to the T and all I got out of it were some baked apple slices that I wound up throwing on top of some french toast slices (just to slavage something from the dish).

This is delicious! And very easy. Now I have to say the bisquick measure is just WRONG. I heated the water with the butter and adding just half cup of bisquick will not make a ball at all. It needs MORE Bisquick. I put more until I saw a ball forming, like a half cup more. And I only used one egg too instead of two. As my personal touch I added little bit of vanilla extract and little sugar to the batter (I do this everytime I make pancakes). Don't take the peel off the apples, that makes it looks colorful and it's yummy. Instead of glass pan I cooked it in my cast iron skillet and oh boy this turned out so delicious. Great recipe.

This dish was perfect for a cold fall morning. Not only did the aroma fill our place, but the oven helped warm us up. The dish itself was wonderful. I ended up adding some syrup since the crust reminded me so much of french toast. I left the skin on the apples to add fiber, it didn't seem to take away from the dish at all.
