cups all purpose flour
1/2
teaspoon salt

tablespoons cold water

cup shortening
  1. mix flour and salt; cut in shortening
  2. sprinkle one tablespoon water over mixture and toss with fork; repeat until all is moistened (additional water may be needed)
  3. divide dough in half and form each into a ball; flatten one on lightly cloured surface forming a 12" circle
  4. repeat on second ball (cut into 3/4" wide strips for lattice top pies)
