Double Chocolate Turtle Cookies

No nuts or caramel here, the turtle title of these cookies inspired by their shape.

cup sugar

cup melted margarine

tablespoons cocoa

teaspoon salt

cups flour

teaspoon vanilla

cup milk

1/4

cup margarine

cup chocolate chips

Beat four eggs for 3 minutes. Add 1 1/3 cup sugar. Beat well.
Add 1 cup melted margarine.
Sift together cocoa, salt and flour.
Combine with creamed mixture. Add vanilla. Beat well.
Using a waffle iron, drop heaping teaspoonfuls onto medium hot iron and bake for 1 to 2 minutes. If the iron is large enough, you make make multiple cookies at a time.
Place cookies on sheets of wax paper to cool.
To create the frosting combine 1 cup sugar, 1/4 cup milk and 1/4 cup margarine. Bring to a boil for 2 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips.
Immediately spoon frosting over cookies, leaving the ends unfrosted (to look like a turtle).
