this recipe was/is a TOTAL disappointment.would not roll out on parchment paper, forget the chocolate layer, almost wasted the sugar cookie layer, except I gabbed a rubber scraper and scraped back into bowl.the sugar cookie didn't even bake up with a decent appearance.I don't usually buy cookie mixes and you can bet I won't again.baked up the chocolate cookies.the end of using betty crocker cookie mixes, and they are not that inexpensive to waste in this fashion

This recipe was very dissapointing. I have never had such problems with a recipe. Try to roll this into a log, it was horrible. I refridgerated for the 3 hrs required, still very soft no way I was going to get a round cookie out of this recipe, I ended cutting them, (they ended up long and flat) and swirled them into a cookie, alot thicker than they should have been, but I had no choice. Terrible recipe.

I've never been disappointed with a recipe that I've found on the Betty Crocker site before but I was with this one. After forming the roll and refrigerating over night, I found the slices very difficult to do neatly because of the large chunks of chocolate in the chocolate layer. I used the sharpest knife I have (and it is sharp) and it was a struggle to get a decent shaped slice to put on the cookie sheet. The cookies also spread terribly while baking. I don't know if freezing the cookie dough roll before slicing would have helped, but I don't think I'll be trying this recipe again.
