I made this for my grandma's 95th birthday party, and it was wonderful. As I'd hoped, it wasn't too sweet (as too many desserts are), although it's very rich. We all had very small slices, which were "just enough." The only thing I'll do differently next time is to make twice as much of the cherry topping.
