  • Prep 5 min

Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb halibut steaks (1 inch thick), cut into 2 serving pieces
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 sprigs dill weed
  • 2 lemon slices (1/4 inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons dry white wine or nonalcoholic white wine

Steps

  • 1
Heat oven to 400°F. Spray 8-inch square (2-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray. Pat fish dry with paper towels; place in baking dish.
  • 2
Sprinkle fish with salt. Place dill weed sprig and lemon slice on each fish piece. Pour wine over fish.
  • 3
Bake uncovered 20 to 25 minutes or until fish flakes easily with fork.

  • Fresh dill nicely complements the halibut, but other fresh herbs, like tarragon or basil, would be good choices, too.
