1: box devils food cake mix

21: ounces cherry pie filling

2: eggs

1: teaspoon vanilla extract

1: tub chocolate frosting

Directions

1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2 Spray 2 9x9
3 In a large bowl combine devils food cake mix, cherry pie filling, eggs and vanilla extract. Beat until well mixed at low speed, then beat 1 minute at medium speed.
4 Pour batter until the prepared pans.
5 Bake for 25-30 minutes or until cake is set.
6 Remove cake from oven. Wait ten mintues to remove cakes from pans onto cooling racks.
7 Wait 1 hour for cakes to fully cool.
8 Spread frosting inbetween the two layers of cake and frost the outsides and top.

I LOVE this cake. Except i use almond extract. Also.. I top it with frosting made from Cool Whip, Vanilla Pudding mix and cream cheese.. SOOO YUMMY!

This cake was simple TechKat and it was soooo good. I use a chocolate glaze to mine. I layered the cake to thick with the glaze so next time I make the chocolate glaze I will layer it thin so that it doesn't over power the cake.

This cake was so simple, and so good! The cherry isn't overly prominent, but with some cherry garnish, it can still be the main focus of this desert. I don't even need to put frosting on mine--it's rich and moist enough on it's own! However, it's super good soaked with molten lava cake filling if you feel the need to have a foodgasm :)
