"Mousse" layer didn't firm up. I had to put them in the freezer in order to put the chocolate layer on. Chocolate/butter mixture stiffened and was unable to be spread without thinning it a tad but still had difficulty spreading. Taste was great! Would only make these again if I can figure out how to correct these issues.

I'm a seasoned baker of 40 years and I also had problems with this recipe. The melted white chocolate and whipping cream mixture didn't "thicken slightly" after 1 1/2 hours in 'frig. I mixed it into the frosting and chopped cherries as directed regardless and added 1/4 teaspoon almond extract. The chocolate chips and butter seized up on me and I had to add several tablespoons of leftover whipping cream to make it spreadable and salvage the bars.

Very disappointed in this recipe. The chocolate frosting was impossible to spread and ended up mixing with the cherry filling. Also, the cherry filling was very liquid-y and not mousse-like. It ended up being a big mess.

I brought these to the office for my birthday. The group decided they were a "dessert experience"!

Yummy, yummmy, I love baking and these brownies were a definite hit. I made the brownies with the cake (extra egg) recipe so they wouldn't be as rich. The only tricky step I encounter every single time is the spreading of the melted chocolate. If anyone has any advice I would more than appreciate it!!! I also put them in individual cake cases - seems to make them look more appealing even if the chocolate hasn't been spread as nicely as I'd wanted :-)

These were excellent. I did use homemade cream cheese icing and made a chocolate gnache to put on top, those where my only changes.

So that it wont be running I switched the whipping cream to Cool Whip - whipped cream - this really held up and was really good.

These were delicious - I brought them to our MN potluck down here in AZ. I did find them messy and a lot of work. Next time I would add some almond flavoring to the mousse- to make it more cherry-flavored.

This is a very delicious recipe! It is very difficult and messy to make though. After spreading the cherry mousse on the brownies, put them in the freezer for an hour or two, instead of just the fridge. Otherwise the cherry stuff will melt and you'll be left with tasty brownie goop.
