Easy Date Walnut Cookies

Oatmeal and dates marry in a rich cookie-jar favorite. Make two batches if you want the cookie jar to stay full very long.

pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker® oatmeal cookie mix
1/2
cup butter or margarine, softened

egg
1
tablespoon water
1
package (8 oz) chopped dates
3/4
cup chopped walnuts
Powdered sugar, if desired
  1. Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, stir all ingredients until stiff dough forms.
  2. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  3. Bake 10 to 11 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
