RE MelissaJ73: Splenda can be tricky to work with. Be sure that you are cooking it on low heat or a simmer.

OK so this recipe did not go well for me, and I'm hoping I can find out what I did wrong. I tried melting the splenda in the pan, but it did not turn to a liquid. It just burned. So I went ahead and baked the batter without the caramel base, adding some cinnamon. In a wierd way it tasted OK, but tasted like sweetened egg. Help...I would like to make this recipe the correct way, since the calories are so low!
