Creamy Wild Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups uncooked wild rice
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground sage
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 can (10 3/4 oz) condensed cream of celery soup
  • 1 can (10 3/4 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 1/4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

Steps

    Rinse rice with cold water; drain. In 5- to 6-quart slow cooker, mix rice and all remaining ingredients except parsley.

    Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 to 9 hours. Stir in parsley before serving.

  • To add crunch to this creamy dish, add a couple tablespoons of toasted pecans or almonds. You can either stir them in or sprinkle them right on top.
